About Our Beef

Our Beef

(Taste the difference of Farm-raised beef from Greensboro, GA)

Our beef is born and raised on our family farm here in Greensboro, Georgia.  Our finishing calves are the classic “Black Baldy,” which is a cross between the Hereford and Black Angus breeds.  This crossbreeding results in a calf that expresses the positive traits of each breed.  We believe the Black Baldy calf is healthier, faster growing, and more efficient, resulting in a more consistent finished product for you, the consumer.

Our calves spend their first 8-10 months by their mother’s side nursing and grazing on open pastures.  When they are ready, we move them by groups to a separate pasture for weaning.  Here, they are slowly introduced to a supplementation of grain feed, along with continual access to fresh water, green grass, and/or high-quality hay.  As they grow, we continue to supplement grain feed daily at a rate of 1.5% of the individual body weight.  At around 20 months of age, most calves are properly finished and ready to be delivered to a USDA-inspected processing facility.  Each cut of our beef is freshly frozen and vacuum-sealed, ensuring maximum flavor and up to two years of shelf life.
